That is beyond awesomeness ! I've always wanted to go to NY and I still do but I ain't got the money and well I'm 16 and I need a visa.It's so hard to go to America now . I'm from Romania and I'm still dreaming of getting there someday ! Now I really wish I was you...

This [link] gives you a good idea of the kinds of exposures you should get with your shots.

If you don't have the Photomatix software, you can download the Trial version [link] and use that - it will put a Photomatix watermark in the pic but at least you can try it out.
